In Control

On the ferry between Lewes, DE and Cape May, NJ.

In our last letter, I mentioned all the driving we would be doing this month as a prayer request. Thank you for praying! We drove about 7000 miles in the month of April, and God kept us safe and without any car trouble, and we had a great month visiting churches. In March, Tim had his ordination, and we had our commissioning and sendoff service from our home church. It was quite an emotionally demanding month! April, however, was more physically demanding.

New friends we made at Marshalll Baptist Church

We began the month driving from Iowa back to North Carolina for a missions conference at Marshall Baptist Church in Winston Salem. We were able to connect with several people we had not seen in quite some time, and we were encouraged by their passion for our ministry. After this, we drove back to Iowa and celebrated Easter Sunday with Carlisle Baptist Church and Autumn’s family. We then drove back to North Carolina for another meeting in the Outer Banks at Still Waters Baptist Church. This church has become quite special to our family. They were one of our very first meetings on deputation, and we have been able to spend time with them every year since. Each time we have visited them they have really made an effort to show love and appreciation to our whole family.

Pastor Tony Fascenda has become famous for the amount of ice cream he dishes out.

Our next meeting was scheduled in southern Maine, and our family chose to take this week between meetings to slowly drive up the east coast, enjoying some of the sights and doing fun things together. This was a much needed break, and we are so thankful that God provided this opportunity. On April 23rd we presented our ministry at East Limington Baptist Church outside Portland before driving back to Iowa.

Enjoying the beach between meetings!

We are still hoping to wrap up deputation and be leaving for the UK by the beginning of June. We have only one more meeting scheduled with a new church before we go! God has been teaching us patience for the last couple of months. Many of the things that need to happen before we can leave are completely out of our hands, but we have been taught over and over again that doesn’t mean they are out of His. We have been taught that when we are not in control, it is often for the best! God is always in control. We are waiting to hear back about Autumn’s visa. We are still waiting to get the paperwork for Oliver’s British citizenship. We are also waiting on about two hundred dollars more a month of support. But we know that these things will happen in God’s perfect timing. With that being said, please join us in praying that God will bring each of these things about soon.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God... And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
