Quick Update

The red building on the right is where we meet for our Bible study on Fridays

Not a whole lot has changed since our last update, but God is continuing to work here in Scotland, and we are excited as the next steps of our ministry are getting closer. This will mostly be a quick life update, including a few things you can pray for our family about.

The boys are doing great in school. Over the last few weeks, they have been studying Scottish poetry in preparation for Robert Burns day, and it was cute to hear them with their thick Scottish accents as they read their poems and sang their songs. Tim’s studies are still going well, and he will be finishing up his classes by the end of March, which will be nice. Autumn has been able to spend a lot of time meeting with ladies in the community and helping at the kids’ school when she can. Please pray that God helps us to build inroads and transition these relationships into gospel opportunities.

We have been attending a Baptist church that is not far from us over the past few months and have really appreciated that Christian fellowship for our family. It has been an answer to prayer. We have been able to find ways to participate and serve, though our main focus is always planting our church.

Our Bible group has continued to meet on Tuesdays and Fridays over last couple of months. We had a new visitor last week, and that was an answer to prayer - your prayers specifically! He is currently exploring his faith and looking for answers. Pray for him and his family, that God would reveal the truth of the gospel to him, and that God might use us in the process! He plans to keep coming and to bring his family next time. There is another lady who was planning to come last week but wasn’t able to make it. Several others we have spoken to have indicated that may be planning to start attending, which would bring us to a pretty large group if they all start coming along!

We continue to put ourselves out there in our community and have been making friends as much as we can. Sometimes this process can feel slow, but when we look back at where we were just a few months ago when we moved here, we realize how many people we have met and built relationships with. Now, as we walk down the high street, we often see people we recognize and stop to talk, and it is clear that God is making us at home in this community.

As we look ahead to the next steps for us, please continue to pray for our family. We need wisdom as we decide when to begin church services, where to have them, and many other details that go along with that. We would like to have a good core group of people from our Bible studies that would come along as we begin services, so keep praying that God would grow those groups as well.

We really do appreciate every one of you that reads these updates and keeps up with our family. Over the years of deputation and these first few months on the field, God has continued to listen to and answer your prayers for us.
