Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope that all of you reading this had a wonderful Thanksgiving. During this season, we purposefully set aside time to think through all the things we are thankful for, and this year we truly have so much. The most exciting news we have to share is regarding our middle child, Oliver. For quite some time, Oliver has shown an understanding of who God is, what Jesus has done, and what that means for him. A couple of weeks ago, Oliver clearly indicated that he was ready to do something about it. We praise the Lord that he prayed and accepted Christ as his Savior this month! When we sat around the table saying what we were thankful for on Thursday, the first thing he said is that he was thankful for God.
Since our last update we have had opportunities to present in Kansas, Ohio and North Carolina. We'd like to thank the church families at Stony Point Baptist, Victory Baptist, Triad Baptist, Marshall Baptist, and First Baptist in Elyria for all of your kindness and hospitality!
We were able to spend some time with friends and fellow missionaries, the Boyles, and God used that to greatly encourage us this month.
Since our last update, three more churches have partnered with us for financial support, and we have also had some verbal commitments from individuals. Praise the Lord! To God be all the glory.
On December 6th, we will fly out of Charlotte airport for our survey trip with our prospective teammates, Trevor and Amelia. We will be there three weeks, traveling around England, Wales, and Scotland. Our sincere prayer is that God will use this opportunity in a profitable way for our ministry. We are praying to have a clearer idea of where in the UK God is leading us after this trip. We also have meetings planned with pastors and others while we are there. Please pray with us that this will be a worthwhile trip!
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
- 2 Timothy 2:1-2
God has been teaching us how important it is to invest in people when making disciples. We have talked a lot about how the process of making disciples needs to include training those disciples to make disciples of their own. This is exactly what we see in 2nd Timothy. Paul tells Timothy that just as he had invested in him, Timothy should invest in others, and teach them to do the same with people in their own lives. This isn’t something we should wait to do once we are in the UK. This isn’t something only missionaries or pastors are called to do. We are all called to make disciples just as individuals made disciples of us when they invested in our lives and shared the Gospel with us.
Praises:
Oliver accepting Christ as his Savior.
An increase in monthly financial support.
Safety as we have driven many thousands of miles recently.
Opportunities we have had here in Winston Salem for outreach and evangelism.
Prayer Requests:
Safety traveling to and around the UK.
That God will use this trip in our lives and for His glory.
Meetings for next year
