East to West
We left our last update at Launch Seminar in Ohio, and so much has happened since then. We praise God that two more churches have joined our team of supporters, and we are now at 77% of our needed support! We are continuing to pray that God will get us to 100% by the Spring of next year.
Launch seminar was a great time of encouragement and learning for us. It was refreshing to spend time with friends and colleagues at the Global Ministry Center and exciting to meet some of the new candidates starting their journey of deputation. It was especially fun to spend the week with Tim’s brother, Trevor, and his wife, Amelia, who we are planning to work with on the field. Please pray for Trevor and Amelia. Their family finished deputation and arrived in the UK earlier this month! It is exciting to see God working and to see them moving to the next stage of ministry.
After launch seminar, we presented our ministry at Faith Baptist Church in Thomasville, North Carolina and were able to spend a couple of days with some members of our sending church in Winston Salem. The following Sunday, we were at Berean Baptist Church in Davenport, Iowa, and then we headed out to Colorado for meetings at La Junta Baptist Tabernacle, Mountain Shadows Baptist Church in Pueblo, and Rustic Hills Baptist Church in Colorado Springs. After returning from Colorado, we had meetings in Ashton and Sheldon, Iowa. We did a lot of driving this month. We put over 5,000 miles on our van since the last update. But we thank God for keeping us safe and free of any car troubles! Once again, we are so thankful for these churches that allowed us to present our ministry. We have been so graciously cared for by each one of them and by the many families who have allowed us to stay in their homes.
We are starting the process of citizenship applications for our children, and that can take some time. We would really appreciate you prayers for us, that we don’t make any mistakes or forget any steps, and also that the UK government is quick to respond and we are able to get all of this done.
The boys started school this week at Grand View Christian School, and they are very excited about it. It will be nice for them to have a regular routine and be able to make some friends they can see often.
Looking ahead, the month of September is looking a little more calm, with all of our meetings located here, in Iowa. In October, however, we have meetings booked in West Virginia, Ohio, Florida, and Iowa. So it will be back on the road! Pray for our safety and for effectiveness as we present our burden and minister to these churches.
